Why Breakfast is so Important

Remember when your parents used to force you to eat breakfast? Well, it turns out that they were onto something good. Breakfast continues to be encouraged, not only in kids and young adults, but also in adults!

Benefits of Eating Breakfast

  • Breakfast can boost your energy levels and prevent afternoon fatigue.
  • Breakfast improves memory, concentration, problem-solving ability, and brain power, as a whole, for both children and adults.
  • Breakfast allows for more intake of vitamins and fiber, especially since classic breakfast foods are nutrient-rich.
  • Breakfast also can help prevent weight gain and obesity, possibly due to breakfast foods that are high-protein and low-fat or fat-free. The fiber-rich foods, i.e., cereals, grains, oats, that are consumed during breakfast help reduce the amount of fat intake during the day.
