Alternative Therapies for Symptom Management

While there are medical options, such as hormone replacement therapy, to manage the symptoms of perimenopause, some women may rather use over-the-counter (OTC) pills as a more natural solution.

Many over-the-counter supplements are frequently used to treat perimenopause symptoms. It’s crucial to remember that these supplements’ effectiveness varies and that some of them could cause concerns or have negative side effects. Before experimenting with any supplement, women should always talk to their doctor about it.

Since that women are more susceptible to osteoporosis during the perimenopause, calcium and vitamin D supplements may be helpful for bone health. Calcium aids in the development and maintenance of strong bones, and vitamin D aids in the body’s absorption of calcium.

Before experimenting with any OTC product, it’s important for women to understand its potential advantages and disadvantages. In order to be sure that any supplement is secure and suitable for their particular requirements, women should also speak with their healthcare professional. The best method for treating perimenopause symptoms may involve a combination of medical care and lifestyle modifications, such as eating a nutritious diet and exercising frequently.

I actually tried adding calcium each day by eating a piece of citrus fruit daily- either after breakfast or for dinner. Just having the piece was enough to feel like i was getting nutrients.
